Your Personal Invitation

Youth Personal Invitation

Celebrate with SMBC

Join us at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on September 15 for National Back to Church Sunday—a special one-day event designed to reach more people in our community and grow our church family.

Did you know that only 5% of Americans have received a personal invitation to church?

Yet, 80% would be open to attending if invited by a friend. This is our opportunity to make a difference!

Last year, 97% of participating churches said that Back to Church Sunday helped them become more outwardly focused.

Let’s come together, extend that invitation, and show our community the love and fellowship of Christ.

Start Something New with Shiloh MBC!

Imagine a powerful way to unite as a congregation and launch a new tradition with purpose. This year, Shiloh MBC is thrilled to participate in National Back to Church Sunday (BTCS) for the first time! Over the past 14 years, BTCS has empowered thousands of churches to reach out to their communities in impactful ways, and now it’s our turn. Here’s why you should be excited to join us on September 15, 2024:

1. Impacts Our Church AND Our Community

BTCS at Shiloh MBC is more than just a Sunday service—it’s an opportunity to make a difference. By challenging our regular attendees to engage deeply with their faith and extend an invitation to someone new, we can have a lasting impact on both our church and our community. In past years, participating churches have seen their worship attendance increase by 26% on BTCS. Imagine the lives we could touch as we open our doors to those who may not have been to church in a while—or ever!

2. BTCS Creatively Fits Any Church, Anywhere

Shiloh MBC, whether we’re gathering in our historic sanctuary or online BTCS is for us! The beauty of BTCS is its flexibility. No two churches are the same, and we can customize our celebration to fit our unique culture and community. Whether we’re a large congregation or a close-knit group, we have the tools to make BTCS our own special event.

3. Kick Off Our Participation with an Outward Focus

As we begin this new tradition, we’re focusing on something greater than ourselves—reaching out to our community. BTCS is an ideal way to ensure our first year is marked by a commitment to evangelism and outreach. On September 15, 2024, Shiloh MBC will be a place of warmth, welcome, and spiritual renewal for all who step through our doors.

4. Prioritize Praying for Those Who Are Far from God

Prayer is the foundation of our faith, and BTCS encourages us to pray earnestly for those in our lives who haven’t yet experienced the love of Christ. As we prepare for this special day, let’s ask God to guide us in reaching out to those who need Him most, and to bless our efforts as we invite others to join us.

5. Provide a Practical Way to Live on Mission

One of the greatest challenges we face as believers is how to live out our faith and reach those in spiritual need. BTCS offers a simple yet powerful way to do just that. By praying for and inviting our friends, family, and coworkers, we take the first step in sharing the gospel and living on mission as Christ called us to. Let’s make this a year of action and impact.

6. Focus the Entire Church on One Goal

BTCS unites our church family around a single, powerful goal: to prayerfully invite at least one person to church. This shared mission creates a sense of expectation and excitement as we prepare to welcome new faces. When everyone is involved—no matter their age or stage of life—something special happens. We begin to see God move in ways we hadn’t imagined.

7. See Lives Forever Changed

There’s nothing more inspiring than seeing lives transformed by the love of Jesus. When someone you’ve invited decides to follow Christ, it not only changes their life—it changes yours, too. BTCS has sparked revitalization in churches across the country as members witness firsthand the power of God working through their invitations. Let’s be part of that transformation at Shiloh MBC!

8. Celebrate the Beauty and Value of the Church

In a world where the Church is often misunderstood, BTCS allows us to showcase the true beauty and value of the Body of Christ. Shiloh MBC is a place where people can find meaningful relationships, grow in their faith, and serve others. Yes, we’re imperfect, but we’re also a community striving together to follow Jesus. On September 15, let’s remind everyone that the Church is a blessing—both to those who attend and to the world around us.

Every year, churches reflect on the impact of BTCS, and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive. Year after year, 94-99% of pastors say they plan to celebrate BTCS again. Many churches have been part of this movement for over a decade and look forward to it each year. Now, it’s our turn.

Are you ready to invite, engage, and make a difference? Our journey with Back to Church Sunday begins now—let’s make it a year to remember at Shiloh MBC!
